Sam has been exposed to tourism from a young age, growing up around the coastal tourist hot spot of Byron Bay. He completed a degree in Business in Tourism at Southern Cross University in Lismore in 2004. On completion of his degree he began his career in the accommodation sector where he spent the first eight years in five star hotels and resorts and the most recent five years in the backpacking industry. He is currently the Manager at Sydney Central YHA and Secretary for the Backpacker Operators Association of NSW.
